What first looked like a dramatic FBI raid at rapper Pooh Sheisty’s house has now turned into a full-blown federal kidnapping case. The newly surfaced court documents are painting a much more sinister picture of what allegedly went down.

Earlier this week, federal agents executed a search and arrest warrant at a Memphis-area home tied to Pooh Shiesty’s family, while the rapper himself was taken into custody in Dallas. His father, Lontrell Williams Sr., was also arrested, and authorities now say both men are among nine people charged in connection with an alleged January 10, 2026 kidnapping and robbery that prosecutors say began as a meeting over music business and spiraled into an armed takeover.

The other men named in the federal complaint are Rodney Wright Jr., who prosecutors identify as rapper Big30, along with Kedarius Waters, Terrance Rodgers, Damarian Gipson, Demarcus Glover, Kordae Johnson, and Darrion McDaniel.

According to the signed criminal complaint filed by FBI Special Agent Brittany Garcia, the alleged victim identified in the documents as “R.D.” is Radric Delantic Davis — Gucci Mane. Investigators say Gucci and two others flew to Dallas for what was supposed to be a meeting with Pooh Shiesty about contract issues, specifically because Shiesty wanted out of his recording agreement. But once they got to the studio, authorities allege the meeting was anything but routine.

The complaint says Shiesty brought Gucci into a recording room, pulled out what appeared to be a black AK-style pistol, and demanded that he sign release paperwork. Prosecutors allege Gucci complied while at gunpoint, as Shiesty’s father and rapper Big30, named in the complaint as Rodney Wright Jr., stood nearby. Investigators further allege that after the paperwork was signed, Gucci was robbed of his wedding ring, watch, earrings, and cash.

Outside that room, things allegedly got even more chaotic. The complaint says several other men produced handguns and AR- or AK-style pistols, held the remaining victims at gunpoint, and began robbing them inside the control room. One victim was allegedly choked from behind to the point of nearly losing consciousness. Another was threatened with being shot for moving. The documents say Rolex watches, chains, wallets, cash, AirPods, and a Louis Vuitton bag were all taken during the incident. At one point, the victims reportedly believed they were about to be executed.

Investigators reveal how much they were able to piece together afterward. The affidavit lays out surveillance footage, cellphone data, rental car records, electronic monitoring data, fingerprints lifted from red Solo cups inside the studio, and social media activity that allegedly linked the suspects to the crime. Investigators say some of the men were later seen online flashing large amounts of cash and wearing jewelry that appeared to match the stolen items.

The complaint also suggests the alleged setup may have been planned in advance. Authorities say Shiesty’s father rented the white Buick Enclave tied to the case and was seen at a Staples shortly before the meeting, where investigators believe the contract release paperwork was printed. Prosecutors say the group then arrived at the studio together, with multiple vehicles and multiple men entering the building before the confrontation began.

The timing makes the whole thing even more explosive. Shiesty had only been released from prison in October 2025 after serving time on a federal firearms case, and reports said he was staying at a residential reentry facility in Dallas with an expected full release later in April.

The criminal complaint says he was still on home detention and wearing an electronic monitoring device at the time of the alleged offense, and investigators say that data placed him at or near the studio.

For now, the arrests have blown the case wide open, but we have yet to see how the evidence holds up as the charges move through federal court.
