50 Cent is officially getting the documentary treatment, and this time it is real.

After joking on April Fool’s Day that Hulu had won a bidding war for a new project about his life, the rapper and mogul returned this week with a very different post. Hulu has now formally greenlit a three-part documentary series about Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and he marked the announcement on Instagram with a short caption: “Positive vibes.”

According to Hulu’s announcement, the untitled series will trace how 50 “relentlessly reinvented himself across music, business, and film while redefining the rules of power, influence, and success.” The project will be executive produced by 50 through G-Unit Film & Television, with Mandon Lovett directing and Patrick Altema attached as showrunner.

The series is being positioned as an intimate look at the many versions of 50 Cent the public has watched emerge over the years, from Queens rapper to television powerhouse. Hulu’s release says the doc will focus on the way he turned “conflict and adversity into enduring cultural impact,” framing his story not just around music but around the empire he built after it.

That story starts with his breakthrough run in the early 2000s, when Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and “In Da Club” turned him into one of rap’s defining stars. From there, 50 expanded far beyond music, moving into film, television, and executive producing, with Power becoming one of the biggest markers of his post-rap career.

More recently, he has stayed active in the documentary space through G-Unit Film & Television as his media footprint keeps growing. In his personal life, he continues to stay in the headlines with various public conflicts, most recently with rapper T.I and his wife, Tiny Harris.
