It looks like Young Thug has been living under a rock, or more accurately, on a very long flight, because he seemed to have no idea Offset had been shot until paparazzi told him on camera.

In a clip that started making the rounds on April 9, Thug was stopped while heading to a car and asked about Offset’s shooting. He looked confused at first, asked who had been shot, and then reacted with visible surprise once he heard it was Offset. “I didn’t know because I’ve been in Asia,” he said, before adding that he had been on a plane for 26 hours.

The moment caught attention because of how shook the rapper appeared to be, hearing this news for the first time, while people off-screen filled him in on what had already been circulating online. The two previously appeared on Young Thug’s track “On the Run” in 2018.

Offset was shot on April 6 outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and his team later said he was hospitalized in stable condition. Police said the shooting happened after a fight in the valet area, that his injuries were not life-threatening, and that the investigation is still ongoing.

Tjay was arrested the same day on disorderly conduct and driving without a valid license charges, but not for the shooting itself. He has denied being involved, and his attorney has also pushed back on reports trying to connect him directly to the gunfire. At the same time, a separate video surfaced in which Tjay called Offset a “rat,” even while still insisting he had nothing to do with the shooting. That tension was already bubbling before the gunfire, too. According to reports, Tjay had previously accused Offset of owing him $10,000, while newer reports also linked Offset to a separate casino debt dispute worth more than $100,000.

For now, police are still trying to identify everyone involved, and no one has been charged in connection with the shooting itself.
