Real Boston Richey’s name is back in the middle of a serious controversy, and this time, the conversation has moved far beyond music.
The Florida rapper, whose real name is Jalen Taheen Foster, responded on Sunday, May 3, after his ex-girlfriend Tatiana “Chanell” Charles made a series of disturbing allegations against him online. The claims included physical abuse, kidnapping, allegations involving minors, and a viral sexual claim that quickly took over social media.

The latest back-and-forth escalated after Richey released a song titled “Bitch You Weird,” which Charles appeared to believe was directed at her.
In his response, Richey denied the sexual claim and said the relationship ended because of his own repeated infidelity. “I got a hundred girlfriends,” he said, adding, “I can’t stop cheating.” He also claimed that he had supported Charles financially during their relationship and argued that he had avoided speaking badly about her publicly.
“I protected you at all costs,” he said, claiming he never spoke negatively about her during the two years they were together.
Charles, meanwhile, had posted an image of an injured eye and alleged that it was taken after she was forced to sit naked in a car with Richey and other men during an eight-hour drive from Orlando to Atlanta. She also shared screenshots that she claimed showed her purchasing a strap-on sex toy and arranging to meet with him, which became the most viral part of the dispute.

Richey directly denied that part of the story. “I don’t even play that route,” he said, before suggesting the item was not used on him.
But the allegations are not landing in a vacuum. In April 2025, KPRC Click2Houston reported that Richey was facing a felony family violence charge after Charles accused him of assaulting her outside a Houston nightclub on March 30, 2025. According to court documents cited in the report, Charles alleged that an argument over athephone escalated inside a car, where she claimed Richey choked her multiple times and restricted her breathing.
Charles told police she was four to eight weeks pregnant at the time and that Richey knew about the pregnancy. KPRC also reported that he posted a $5,000 bond after the charge.
After that incident, Charles released a statement saying she had been “physically assaulted and choked” while pregnant, calling the experience traumatic and asking for privacy while she focused on her safety and future.
Richey has not been convicted in connection with the case, and the newer social media allegations remain claims unless proven through legal proceedings. Still, the controversy has placed renewed attention on the rapper’s personal life at a time when his career has been growing.
His 2024 single “Help Me” became his first Billboard Hot 100 entry and peaked at No. 47, while his album Richey Rich was released through Freebandz Global under exclusive license to Epic Records.
