A resurfaced livestream clip of D4vd is adding another layer to the online conversation surrounding his ongoing criminal case.
The video, which has been circulating across social media, appears to show the singer sitting beside another person, speculated to be Celeste Rivas, during a livestream. At one point, D4vd says, “I media-trained you,” before the person beside him responds, “It’s controversial r*ping kids.” The stream is then quickly ended.
It remains unclear when the clip was recorded, who the person in the video is, or what the full context of the exchange was. Still, the clip has drawn heavy reaction online, with many users questioning why it is only resurfacing now as D4vd faces serious charges in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, was arrested on April 16 in Los Angeles. Prosecutors have charged him with first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail.
According to prosecutors, Rivas was found dead in a Tesla registered to Burke months after she was reported missing. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide caused by multiple penetrating injuries.
During a court hearing this week, prosecutors also alleged that investigators found a “significant amount” of child sexual abuse material on Burke’s phone or iCloud account. His legal team has maintained his innocence, while a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 1.
