Coi Leray is setting the record straight on where she stands with Trippie Redd as questions continue to swirl around their co-parenting situation.
During a recent interview with Jason Lee, Leray briefly addressed her relationship with Redd and their daughter, Miyoco, following a message from the rapper that appeared to accuse her of preventing him from seeing their child. Leray said the situation is being handled in court, keeping further details private.
“We reconnected. We’re no longer together […] we had a baby. We moved on with our lives,” Leray said while discussing her history with Redd. She explained that although their relationship may have appeared to move quickly from the outside, the two had reconnected around 2021 or 2022.
When asked about what initially drew her to Redd, Leray said personality played a bigger role for her than looks.
“I’m a personality girl. I’m not really a looks girl, you feel me?” she said. “You like who you like and fall for who you fall for. I can’t explain it.”
Her comments come after Redd appeared to address their co-parenting issues publicly on X in August.
“Tell that b***h to tell yall she won’t let me see my baby 😉 #NDA,” he wrote. Redd did not identify Leray by name or explain what led to the post.
The message prompted reactions online, with some users urging the rapper to handle the matter privately or through the courts, while others speculated that the post was connected to his NDA album.
Leray and Redd have previously been linked romantically and share daughter Miyoco. Leray has not directly responded to Redd’s specific accusation, and her latest comments indicate that their current co-parenting issues are being addressed through legal channels.
Meanwhile, Leray may offer another glimpse into her perspective through her upcoming song “Nothing Into Something.” She previously teased a snippet that appeared to reference an ex moving differently, though she has not confirmed that the lyrics are about Redd.
The full track is scheduled for release Friday, September 1.
