Blueface was temporarily detained Sunday after Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a restaurant in Santa Clarita, California.

Deputies were called to King of Crab in the 26200 block of Bouquet Canyon Road at approximately 5:27 p.m. following reports of a possible shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Sgt. Josh Nemeth of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station confirmed to City News Service that Blueface was involved in the incident and was detained while deputies conducted their investigation.

The rapper, whose real name is Johnathan Michael Porter, was ultimately released after authorities determined that no crime had taken place at the restaurant.

“Deputies responded, completed an investigation and determined no crime occurred at the location,” Nemeth told CNS.

Authorities did not confirm any injuries connected to the reported incident, and no additional arrests were announced.

The circumstances surrounding what initially prompted the shooting report remain unclear. Officials also did not disclose why Blueface was detained while deputies investigated the scene.

Blueface, 29, is a Santa Clarita resident and has remained one of the more recognizable figures in West Coast rap since breaking through with his viral 2018 track “Thotiana.”

The latest encounter with law enforcement comes after years of highly publicized legal issues surrounding the rapper, though authorities have made clear that Sunday’s investigation did not result in criminal charges against him
