Ruby Rose has accused Katy Perry of sexual assault, claiming the alleged incident happened years ago at Melbourne’s Spice Market nightclub.
The allegation surfaced on Threads after Rose responded to a post about Perry’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s Coachella set. “Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a shit what she thinks,” Rose wrote.

Perry’s representative denied the claim in a statement to Variety, calling it “categorically false” and describing it as a “dangerous, reckless lie.” The rep also claimed Rose has a history of making serious public accusations on social media that have been denied by those involved.
Rose later shared graphic details of the alleged encounter in replies to fans, saying it happened when she was in her early twenties. She also claimed she later downplayed the experience publicly by framing it as a “funny little drunk story” because she did not know how else to process it.

According to Rose, she stayed quiet for years because Perry had agreed to help her with a US visa. She said the trauma of the alleged incident had a lasting impact and that it took her nearly two decades to speak about it publicly./
Rose also said she is not interested in filing a report, saying the goal was to finally speak about the experience rather than seek legal action. Variety reported that it has reached out to Rose’s representative for additional comment.
The allegation came after Perry attended Coachella with partner Justin Trudeau for Bieber’s April 11 headlining set. A Complex post about Perry joking over Bieber watching YouTube videos onstage appears to have sparked Rose’s response.
