Offset is now dealing with a second casino-related problem, this one in court.
According to TMZ, MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit is suing the rapper over an alleged $100,000 gambling debt tied to a credit line he reportedly opened in March 2024. The casino claims it later attempted to withdraw the agreed-upon amount directly from Offset’s account after being unable to reach him, but the transaction allegedly failed for insufficient funds. The lawsuit reportedly includes claims for breach of contract, fraud, and related counts.
A spokesperson for Offset told Complex, “We are working toward a resolution,” signaling that his team is trying to settle the matter before it goes any further. Complex also reported that the lawsuit was filed on March 30, just about a week before Offset was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on April 6.
That timing is part of why the story has picked up so much attention. Offset was shot in the valet area of the Florida casino and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At the same time, authorities said Lil Tjay was later arrested on a disorderly conduct-affray charge connected to the altercation, though not charged in the shooting itself. The investigation is still ongoing.
Complex’s report also pulled in the wider noise that has started building around Offset’s finances. The outlet noted his earlier IRS issue, which reportedly required him to pay more than $1.5 million in federal income taxes. It also referenced fresh public claims from former NFL player Dez Bryant, who alleged Offset owed him $8,000, and from Ebro Darden, who said Offset owed him $5,000 from a Super Bowl bet before later apologizing for commenting publicly.
The outlet further pointed back to Cardi B’s September 2025 X Spaces livestream, where she appeared to allude to financial tension during their divorce, saying the only way she could get out of the marriage was by paying “somebody else’s taxes” and giving up one of her properties. After the Florida shooting, Complex also noted that Offset later responded on social media after Lil Tjay called him a “rat,” writing, “U ain't buss nun.”

With more side claims and old financial issues being dragged back into the conversation, this is quickly becoming bigger than just an unpaid casino tab.
