NLE Choppa is trying to pull one part of the Blueface mess back.

The Memphis rapper publicly apologized to Chrisean Rock on a livestream this week after making comments about her son, Chrisean Jr., during the latest round of tension tied to his feud with Blueface. Speaking directly to her, Choppa said he had let his emotions take him too far and admitted that bringing a child into the situation was out of line. “I genuinely apologize for what I said about your beautiful baby boy,” he said. “It was not right in no way, shape, or form, and I can’t believe I let my emotions get me that far. You didn’t deserve that, your baby didn’t deserve it.”

“I see you trying your best to be great, I see you trying, and I salute you,” Choppa said. “I feel like I was like a test on your spirit in that moment, and you passed it with grace.”

The apology is the latest twist in a feud between NLE Choppa and Blueface that has been bubbling online for a while and keeps resurfacing in new ways.

Although the two have previously collaborated together on "Shotta Flow (Remix) in 2019, the tension really started heating up in early 2024 when Blueface took a shot at Choppa on Jaidyn Alexis’ “Barbie (Remix)”, referencing Choppa’s child’s mother, Marissa Da’Nae. He rapped, “NLE baby mama wanna hit/Why you lying ’bout the number, b***h, you know I got the digits”.

Choppa did not take the jab lightly and quickly responded by challenging Blueface to a boxing match, turning the rap tension into something that looked like it could spill into a real-life fight.

From there, the issue mostly played out online, with both rappers trading insults and fight talk across social media. Blueface signaled he was open to the idea of a fight, while Choppa continued to frame the situation as something personal rather than promotional.

Things escalated again earlier this year when Choppa rejected another potential fight proposal and, in the middle of the back-and-forth, brought Blueface’s son into the argument. In one widely shared clip, he suggested putting their children side by side to see “which one of them know how to operate,” even saying, “Put your son beside my son and let’s see them box!” The comment immediately drew backlash online and pushed the feud into uncomfortable territory.

Choppa later tried to walk part of it back by apologizing directly to Blueface, saying he owed him the same respect Blueface had previously shown after apologizing for dragging Choppa’s mother into their arguments. “I apologize for what I said about your son @bluefasebabyy. From the heart,” he wrote at the time.

Whether NLE Choppa and Blueface are able to call a truce, we are yet to see. But for now, following the former’s apology, one thing is clear: leave the kids alone!
