Nicki Minaj has sparked speculation about becoming the next White House press secretary after a video of her aboard Air Force One went viral.

On Sunday, October 25, the rapper traveled with President Donald Trump to a Republican campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan. During the flight, White House communications director Steven Cheung shared a video of Minaj participating in a mock press briefing, answering questions about Trump’s leadership and accomplishments.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary!” Cheung wrote on X.

The White House’s official account responded with an eyes emoji, while Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz asked Minaj’s fanbase, the Barbz, for their thoughts on the idea. Minaj also reposted the video with an American flag and smiling emoji.

The playful exchange comes after Katie Zacharia stepped down from the press secretary position less than a week after taking the job. However, there has been no official indication that Minaj is being considered for the role.

Meanwhile, Trump drew attention during the Michigan rally after making a remark about the rapper’s appearance. The president complimented Minaj’s figure, telling the crowd, “That’s hard to miss,” before asking her to stand as attendees applauded.

Trump later added that he hoped Minaj wasn’t offended by his comments, emphasizing his appreciation for the rapper’s continued support.

Minaj has become increasingly vocal about her support for Trump, making several public appearances alongside the president in recent months.
