During a recent appearance on the "No Jumper" podcast with host Adam22, Ming Li addressed speculation surrounding her relationship with Nicki Minaj, explaining that their strained dynamic may have stemmed from her decision to speak publicly about her famous sister.
Ming Li Says Nicki Minaj Values Her Privacy
While discussing their relationship, Li suggested that Nicki Minaj was unhappy after she participated in media interviews that touched on their family connection.
According to Li, the "Super Freaky Girl" rapper has always been protective of her personal life and prefers to keep family matters out of the spotlight.
"She probably got mad because she didn't want me to basically talk about her and stuff like that, which I do 100% respect," Li said during the interview.
Li explained that as she begins building her own public profile, questions about being Nicki Minaj's sister are nearly impossible to avoid.
She acknowledged that balancing her own career while respecting her sister's boundaries has been challenging, especially during her first major interview.

Rather than criticizing the rapper, Li said she believes Nicki's cautious approach comes from years of navigating the entertainment industry and dealing with personal hardships.
"We don't know what the f**k that woman been through," Li said. "She's been through so much since a young age."
Li added that her sister's guarded personality isn't about being difficult but instead reflects the reality of living under constant public scrutiny.
"Not Everyone Is Genuine"
Li continued by explaining that maintaining emotional distance is often necessary for celebrities who face constant attention from both the public and people within the industry.
"I could understand her reaction with people sometimes because it has to be on a distance level because not everyone is very genuine."
Although she admitted that Nicki may occasionally need to "chill" in certain situations, Li emphasized that her sister's behavior is rooted in self-protection rather than malice.
Sisters Currently Not in Close Contact
Despite acknowledging that the two are not currently on the best terms, Ming Li made it clear there is no hatred between them.
