Nicki Minaj is giving the Barbz a new way to access exclusive content, but the experience comes with a monthly price tag.
On Saturday, Aug. 1, the “Super Bass” rapper announced the launch of #GagCitySub, a paid subscription available through her official X account for $10 per month.
Subscribers will reportedly gain access to exclusive posts, private Spaces, rare content and interactive experiences that will not be available to the rest of her followers.
“You can now subscribe to my X account,” Minaj wrote while introducing the new feature.
She described the subscription as a space for fans who want to “have fun, think deeper, grow, learn, laugh, cry” and remain fully themselves while connecting with her online community.
Minaj has already begun offering content through the service, including daily motivational messages and subscriber-only Spaces featuring her #NickiTrivia game.
Several members of her loyal fanbase quickly signed up and celebrated the opportunity to interact with the rapper more directly. Others, however, questioned the timing of the paid subscription and linked the launch to Minaj’s ongoing legal disputes.
“Here she goes begging for money again so she can pay for her legal disputes,” one critic wrote in response to the announcement.
Minaj has not indicated that revenue from the subscription will be connected to any of her legal expenses.
The rapper is currently named in separate lawsuits involving a law firm and a production company.
Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani LLP is reportedly seeking approximately $229,000 in a dispute involving unpaid legal fees.
Meanwhile, 24/7 Productions has filed a complaint seeking roughly $275,000 from Minaj and her production company. The company alleges it advanced approximately $255,000 to cover expenses for a 2023 concert connected to the promotion of her Pink Friday 2 album.
According to the complaint, the production company believes Minaj personally benefited from the event despite the alleged unpaid balance. The company is seeking repayment of the advance along with additional expenses.
The claims remain allegations, and Minaj has not publicly connected either case to the launch of #GagCitySub.
Paid subscriptions have become increasingly common on social media as celebrities and creators look for ways to offer dedicated followers more direct and personalized access.
For Minaj, the new service also provides another platform to speak with fans outside of traditional interviews and public appearances.
The rapper has long maintained a close relationship with the Barbz through social media, frequently hosting live conversations, responding to fan theories and encouraging supporters to promote her music.
