Nick Cannon and Alyssa Scott came together with their family to honor their late son, Zen, on what would have been his fifth birthday.
Zen was born on June 23, 2021, and died at only five months old after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Cannon and Scott marked the emotional occasion alongside their daughter, Halo Marie, and other loved ones. Photos shared from the gathering showed the family dressed in white as they celebrated Zen’s life and remembered the joy he brought them.
The family reportedly gathered on a beach while holding photographs and posters of Zen.
They later continued the celebration during an intimate backyard ceremony, where they cut a birthday cake in his honor.
Cannon shared several images from the memorial on social media and included a Bible verse from 2 Corinthians 4:6.
“Zen’s Light will forever shine in our hearts. We love you my son,” Cannon wrote alongside heart, dove and prayer emojis.
The tribute received an outpouring of support from fans who offered condolences and praised Cannon and Scott for keeping Zen’s memory alive.
