Former NBA star Paul Pierce is at the center of an ongoing legal dispute after court documents reportedly revealed alleged text messages exchanged between him and his former partner, Princess Santiago, regarding their young son.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, the messages were included in a filing connected to an ongoing battle over custody and child support.

According to the filing, one message allegedly sent by Santiago informed Pierce that their son had been born and invited him to visit the child.

Court documents state that another message was sent several days later after Santiago reportedly received no response.

The filing also includes an alleged message from Pierce, dated April 13, in which he reportedly wrote that he had officially learned that the child was his son and asked whether he could see him.

According to the documents, Santiago responded by saying that Pierce had previously been given the opportunity to take a paternity test but chose not to do so.

The legal dispute extends beyond the alleged text messages.

Santiago is reportedly seeking sole legal and physical custody of the child while also requesting financial support. Although the exact amount remains undisclosed in publicly available documents, reports indicate that an earlier filing mentioned a monthly support payment request.

According to the filing, Santiago claimed that Pierce had not provided all of the financial information necessary to determine an appropriate amount of support.

She also alleged that she has been unable to work while caring for their son and stated that Pierce has not been consistently involved in the child's life.

The court filings come after Pierce reportedly argued that his income has changed significantly since retiring from professional basketball.

The former Boston Celtics star, who enjoyed a Hall of Fame career spanning nearly two decades, has not publicly commented on the latest claims.
