Nara Smith has shared an emotional family update, revealing that her two-year-old daughter, Whimsy Lou, was diagnosed with cancer late last year.
The 24-year-old influencer opened up about Whimsy’s cancer diagnosis in a video posted across her social media pages on Wednesday, July 1.
“There’s no easy way to say this or to talk about any of this,” Nara began. “But late last year, our daughter Whimsy was diagnosed with cancer.”
Nara Smith Recalls Learning About Whimsy Lou’s Cancer Diagnosis
Nara explained that she and her husband, model Lucky Blue Smith, first became concerned after noticing something unusual on their daughter.
The couple reportedly took Whimsy to the emergency room, but doctors were initially unsure what was wrong. They later visited the child’s pediatrician, where Nara sensed the situation was serious before receiving confirmation.
“I just remember him going really quiet and calm,” she recalled. “My heart dropped in that moment.”
Nara said her instincts immediately led her to fear that Whimsy had cancer.
“I don’t know whether it was my gut telling me something or just a mom’s intuition, but the first thing that I felt was she has cancer,” she said.
Whimsy Lou Began Chemotherapy Treatment
According to Nara Smith, Whimsy began chemotherapy soon after receiving her cancer diagnosis.
The content creator explained that caring for her daughter and supporting the rest of her family contributed to her reduced presence on social media.
Nara did not disclose the specific type of cancer Whimsy was diagnosed with or provide a detailed update about her current condition.
