Nic Vansteenberghe has publicly addressed his breakup with fellow Love Island USA season 7 star Olandria Carthen for the first time, confirming reports that the fan-favorite couple has ended their relationship.

The update comes days after reports surfaced that Vansteenberghe, 25, and Carthen, 28, had decided to split more than a year after leaving the Peacock dating series together.

In a message shared with subscribers on TikTok, Vansteenberghe acknowledged the speculation and confirmed the news.

The statement follows confirmation from a source that the couple had chosen to end their romantic relationship while remaining on good terms.

According to the source, the pair's demanding schedules and living apart ultimately made it difficult to sustain their relationship.

Despite the breakup, they reportedly still have "deep love and respect" for one another and plan to continue supporting each other as friends.

Vansteenberghe and Carthen became one of the most talked-about couples during Love Island USA season 7 after their connection developed later in the competition.

Following the show, Carthen admitted she initially held back from pursuing Vansteenberghe because she didn't want to hurt her friend Cierra Ortega, who had previously been paired with him in the villa.

After Ortega exited the competition, Carthen said she finally allowed herself to explore the relationship and realized their chemistry had been there all along.
