Huda Mustafa and Louis Russell’s reality TV crossover romance has come to an end.

The Love Island USA star and the Too Hot To Handle alum have broken up after nearly nine months together, confirming the split in a joint statement shared with TMZ on May 20. The former couple said they had taken time to reflect before deciding to “part ways for the time being.”

In the statement, Huda and Louis made it clear that the breakup is not being framed as a messy fallout. Instead, both said they are turning their attention toward their children, careers, and personal lives. Huda is focusing on motherhood, her music career, and new opportunities, while Louis is focused on fatherhood and his future projects.

The pair also said they remain friends and still have love and respect for each other as they move into this next chapter separately. They asked for privacy while navigating the breakup.

Huda and Louis first sparked dating rumors in summer 2025, shortly after Huda left the Love Island USA villa. Their romance became more public when they stepped out together at the Weapons world premiere in Los Angeles on July 31, where they were photographed holding hands on the red carpet.

The timing of their relationship drew attention from reality TV fans because Louis was also appearing on Netflix’s Perfect Match at the time. Cosmopolitan reported in August 2025 that the two had continued to soft-launch their romance online, including through vacation posts and social media clips that kept fans talking.

Their breakup also comes after a period of public legal drama involving Louis’ ex, Nicole Olivera, with whom he shares his son, Luka-Kai. PEOPLE reported that Louis dropped his custody case against Nicole in April after previously seeking joint legal custody and a parenting plan.

Nicole had also filed a temporary restraining order against Huda earlier this year, accusing her of making threats toward Nicole, Luka-Kai, and Huda’s own daughter, Arleigh. Huda denied the allegations on Instagram, saying they were “not true” and that she was letting the legal process handle the situation.

While the relationship is over, Huda is already preparing for her next public chapter. The reality star has been teasing her move into music, with fan pages and social posts pointing to a May 22 release for her debut single and music video.
