Ace Greene is walking back his past comments about Love Island USA fan-favorite couple Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen.
Nearly 10 months after he questioned whether “Nicolandria” were a real couple, Ace admitted that his comments came from a place of hurt. During a recent appearance on the Life Without the Game podcast, the Love Island USA season 7 alum opened up about why he spoke on Nic and Olandria’s relationship after leaving the villa.
“With the whole Nicolandria situation, when I spoke on that…that’s me speaking from hurt,” Ace said.
According to Ace, his feelings toward Nic changed after he felt unsupported during his own Love Island USA journey with ex Chelley Bissainthe. Ace said he was hurt that Nic did not publicly say he and Chelley deserved to make the final four.
“Bro, he just hurt my feelings,” Ace explained. “I feel like he had my back.”

Ace said that even though he praised Olandria during his interview with Speedy Morgan, he still should not have commented on her relationship with Nic. He admitted that his remarks opened the door for Olandria to receive online hate, even though that was not his intention.
“I still also spoke on her relationship,” he said. “So, it opened up the door for her to get hated on in general, and that wasn’t even my intent.”
The drama started last summer after Ace exited the Love Island USA villa and appeared on Speedy Morgan’s show. When asked if Nic and Olandria were the real deal, Ace stayed silent. He also claimed at the time that he did not respect Nic because he allegedly acted differently on camera than he did behind the scenes.
Ace also suggested that Olandria had been “adamant” about her type and implied that Nic did not match what she had described.
Olandria appeared to respond shortly after in a since-deleted social media post following an event at Tuskegee University. “Chile anyway…my event at Tuskegee went amazing yesterday,” she wrote.
Nic also seemed affected by the situation. When a fan on Snapchat asked how he was doing after Ace’s comments, he reportedly rated his day a 4/10.
Now, Ace says the situation hurt everyone involved.
“I hurt myself; I hurt them in the process,” he said. “We talked about it that same week, and we smoothed things over and are cool, but it still put a damage on all of our relationship.”
Ace added that the fallout still hurts because Nic and Olandria were people he considered friends during their time in the villa.
“That’s something that hurts to this day, because these are people who I was friends with in the villa for a while,” he said.
Nic and Olandria have not publicly responded to Ace’s latest interview.
