Rapper Benzino, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta mainstay, has reportedly been hospitalized in Atlanta after an explosive custody-related confrontation involving his child’s mother, Althea Heart, and LHH personality Diamond.
The first wave of the story landed on Feb. 25, when blogger Tasha K said Benzino (real name Raymond Scott) called her from Grady Memorial Hospital wearing a neck brace and in “extreme pain.” According to Tasha K’s account, Benzino alleged Althea tried to remove their son from school despite him claiming he has sole custody. He reportedly said he ran after them, and amid the chaos, Diamond allegedly hit him with her vehicle.
A day later, Benzino gave TMZ his version: he claims Diamond was driving when the car side-swiped him as they pulled off, knocking him to the ground. He also alleged police stopped the vehicle afterward and that Child Protective Services returned his son to him. Benzino further told the outlet an ambulance was called, and he suffered injuries to his arm, head, and back.
But Althea told TMZ a completely different story—framing this less as an “incident” and more as a mother trying to see her child. “I haven’t seen my son in months,” she said, adding she wanted a wellness check to lay eyes on him. She also alleged Benzino is faking his injuries, saying the situation has affected her livelihood and stress levels.
Meanwhile, Diamond posted video commentary of her own, noting police were present—implying that if she’d truly hit Benzino the way he alleges, there would be immediate consequences.
For now, it’s a messy, he-said/she-said swirl with serious accusations and competing timelines—and it’s still developing.
