Kodak Black just scored a major legal victory in Florida.

Prosecutors have officially declined to move forward with a drug-trafficking case against the rapper after determining there was insufficient evidence to support the allegation.

Kodak, whose real name is Bill Kapri, had been arrested earlier this year over an accusation that he trafficked MDMA in Orange County.

But despite the arrest, prosecutors never formally filed the charge.

Now, a newly filed notice has officially brought the case to an end.

A No Information Notice filed Friday states that prosecutors did not have sufficient evidence to prove Kodak possessed the alleged contraband.

That filing means the state will not pursue the drug-trafficking allegation against him.

The decision ends the Orange County criminal matter without a trial or conviction.

Kodak had been represented by longtime attorney Bradford Cohen, who previously fought to have restrictions connected to the arrest removed.

Kodak was arrested on May 6 and booked into the Orange County Jail.

The arrest stemmed from a warrant connected to an alleged incident dating back to November.

Authorities accused the rapper of trafficking MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, near Mercy Drive and Fairvilla Road in Orange County.

However, the arrest itself did not mean prosecutors had formally charged Kodak with the offense.

The state continued reviewing the evidence before ultimately deciding there was not enough to proceed.

Signs that the case could be falling apart emerged months earlier.

In July, an Orange County judge granted Cohen’s request to release Kodak from his bail and other pretrial conditions.

At that point, prosecutors still had not formally filed criminal charges against him.

The latest filing now removes the remaining uncertainty surrounding the case.

Prosecutors concluded that the available evidence did not establish that Kodak actually possessed the alleged contraband.

Because prosecutors declined to file the drug-trafficking charge, Kodak will not face trial over the allegation.

The case also ends without a criminal conviction or judgment against him related to the November incident.

That distinction is significant because Kodak had already been arrested based on the warrant before prosecutors completed their review of the evidence.

After evaluating the case, the state ultimately determined it could not support moving forward.

Kodak’s legal issues have repeatedly made headlines alongside his music career, but this particular case now ends in his favor.

The rapper has built a major career with platinum-selling records, high-profile collaborations and a loyal fanbase, while also dealing with several legal battles over the years.
