Keke Wyatt is pushing back against reports surrounding her recent arrest in Georgia, with her representatives disputing several of the charges initially associated with the case.

The R&B singer, whose legal name is Ketara Wyatt Darring, was booked into the Henry County Jail on September 20. She was released two days later after posting a $1,050 bond.

While booking information reportedly listed multiple allegations, Wyatt’s team says the court documentation currently reflects only one charge: simple assault.

Following reports of Wyatt’s arrest, her representatives issued a statement challenging claims that she had been charged with cruelty to children, terroristic threats and acts, or aggravated assault.

“Contrary to information currently being circulated, the Henry County court documentation reflects one charge: simple assault,” her representatives said.

Wyatt’s team emphasized that they were not asking the public to prejudge the circumstances of the case and said the singer intends to address the matter through the appropriate legal process.

Her representatives expressed particular concern about reports involving children.

However, public booking information reportedly presents a different account of the allegations connected to Wyatt’s arrest.

According to reports citing Henry County booking information, Wyatt was initially listed with allegations including aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, and third-degree cruelty to children.

The reported child cruelty designation does not necessarily mean Wyatt was accused of physically harming a child.

The booking entry reportedly described the allegation as third-degree cruelty to children involving a witness. Under Georgia law, that designation can apply in certain cases when a child witnesses or hears an alleged act of violence.

Wyatt’s representatives maintain that those allegations are not reflected as charges in the court documentation currently before the court.

Wyatt reportedly acknowledged possessing the firearm while speaking with authorities but denied pointing it through a vehicle window or threatening anyone.

The allegations contained in the warrant have not been proven in court.
