Jhené Aiko has officially earned her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with her latest project, ‘Westside Whimsy.’ The R&B singer's fourth studio album debuted at the top of the chart, marking a major achievement in her music career.
According to Variety, the album earned 74,000 equivalent album units in its opening week. The achievement also makes Aiko the first female R&B artist to top the Billboard 200 in 2026.

Aiko's latest album is the first R&B project by a woman to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 since SZA's ‘SOS’ topped the chart in May 2025.
The only other R&B album to reach the top spot in 2026 was Bruno Mars' ‘The Romantic.’
‘Westside Whimsy’ also became the only new album to debut in the Billboard 200's top 10 this week.
The project features collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Tyga and Larry June. Despite arriving with little advance promotion, the album secured Aiko's first chart-topping debut.
The singer announced the project less than a week before its release, making its opening-week performance particularly notable.

Although ‘Westside Whimsy’ marks Aiko's first No. 1 album, the singer has enjoyed years of success on the Billboard charts.
Her first Billboard 200 entry came in 2013 with her debut EP, ‘Sail Out.’ Since then, she has placed six projects on the chart.
Her previous studio album, ‘Chilombo,’ arrived in 2020 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
The project also earned three Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year, Best Progressive R&B Album and Best R&B Performance for “Lightning & Thunder.”
With ‘Westside Whimsy,’ Aiko has now reached the top of the Billboard 200 for the first time in her career.

Ella Langley's ‘Dandelion’ landed at No. 2 with approximately 60,000 equivalent album units, while Olivia Rodrigo's ‘You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love’ secured the No. 3 spot.
Morgan Wallen's ‘I'm the Problem’ followed at No. 4, with Noah Kahan's ‘The Great Divide’ rounding out the top five.
The remaining positions included Drake's ‘Iceman,’ Ariana Grande's ‘Petal,’ Rod Wave's ‘Don't Look Down,’ Olivia Dean's ‘The Art of Loving’ and Noah Kahan's ‘Stick Season.’
