Jaliyah Anderson is opening up about what life really looks like after walking away from her longtime relationship with FunnyMike.

Nearly three months after the former couple called it quits following eight years together, Jaliyah gave fans an emotional update on her healing process, newfound independence and whether she is ready to start dating again.

The breakup came after a turbulent period between the two, with Jaliyah previously making several allegations against FunnyMike, including accusations of physical abuse and claims involving other women. The pair have since continued co-parenting their three children while navigating life separately.

Now, Jaliyah says she is finally beginning to understand what moving on actually means.

During a recent YouTube Q&A titled “LIFE UPDATE Q/A (STILL SINGLE?),” Jaliyah was asked how she has been doing mentally since the split.

She admitted the first few weeks were difficult.

According to Jaliyah, one of the hardest parts was accepting that the future she had imagined with FunnyMike was no longer going to happen.

“Y’all ever had that saying of people grieving somebody that’s not dead?” she asked.

Jaliyah explained that she felt like she had to mourn both the person and the relationship itself.

“I grieve that person and that situation,” she said, explaining that after spending years building a family and imagining a future together, accepting that it was over was painful.

The influencer said time has helped her gradually process the breakup.

Jaliyah also revealed that the breakup forced her to learn something new about herself: she is far more independent than she initially believed.

After spending nearly a decade with FunnyMike, she admitted she had grown accustomed to having someone else take care of certain things in her life.

Being single has forced her to rebuild that independence.

Jaliyah said the experience has shown her how strong she can be on her own, something she may not have fully realized while she was still in the relationship.

Jaliyah also addressed fans who believe she should have retaliated against FunnyMike by cheating or treating him the way she claims she was treated during their relationship.

She strongly disagreed.

“Nobody’s actions can make me go against my morals and standards as a woman,” Jaliyah said.

Rather than trying to hurt someone back, she explained that she would rather walk away knowing she remained true to herself.

“As a woman, you have to sit on your hands,” she continued, adding that she knows the type of partner she was during the relationship.

Jaliyah suggested that losing someone who remained loyal could ultimately become its own consequence.

“I know what you gonna regret once I go that way,” she said.

While Jaliyah may be embracing single life, she admitted she briefly thought about jumping back into the dating scene.

That experiment apparently did not last long.

Jaliyah revealed that people had begun asking her out and she initially believed she might be open to meeting someone new.

Then she noticed a pattern.

She started ghosting them.

That made Jaliyah realize she probably was not emotionally ready for another relationship yet.

For now, she says she is not completely shutting the door on dating, but finding another man is far from her biggest priority.

Instead, she appears focused on healing, her children and rediscovering herself outside of the relationship she had been in for most of her adult life.

Still, Jaliyah’s latest comments suggest she believes this chapter feels different.

The former couple have continued generating viral moments even after ending their relationship.

In June, Jaliyah was filmed partying with friends when FunnyMike’s song “Overly Going” began playing.

Rather than avoiding the track, she could be seen singing and dancing along.

The clip eventually reached FunnyMike during a livestream.

“Wait, is that who I think that is singing the lyrics?” he asked while watching the video.

Viewers quickly began teasing him in the comments, with some suggesting Jaliyah’s carefree reaction showed she had already moved on.

FunnyMike pushed back on claims that he was hurt by the clip and said he wanted both of them to continue moving forward.

For Jaliyah, that appears to mean remaining single for now.
