Drake may have a familiar name waiting on his highly anticipated upcoming project ICEMAN.

According to Charlamagne Tha God, someone who allegedly heard Drake’s upcoming album told him Future is on the project. As reported by The Source and echoed by Bars, Charlamagne said, “Somebody told me they actually heard it yesterday... They said Future was on it.” Neither Drake nor Future has confirmed that publicly.

That one line is enough to stir things up because Drake and Future are not just any rap pairing. For years, they were one of the genre’s surest combinations, bouncing between cold, detached luxury rap and full-on hitmaking without much effort. Then the temperature changed. By the time Future aligned himself with Metro Boomin during the 2024 Drake and Metro Boomin public feud, the idea of another collaboration started to feel a lot less automatic.

It also has been a minute since they last connected on record. Their most recent major collab, “Wait for U” with Tems, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2022 and became one of the biggest rap records of that year. That song worked because it did what Drake and Future usually do best together: make something slick, moody, and huge without sounding like they are trying too hard.

So if Future really is on ICEMAN, the feature will not just land as fan service. It will raise a bigger question about whether one of rap’s iciest fractures has squashed their beef behind the scenes — or whether both of them simply know that when the chemistry works, it is smarter to use it than waste it.
