Drake is back in the middle of the conversation, and this time, the numbers are doing a lot of the talking.

The rapper’s new album ICEMAN has reportedly broken one of Kendrick Lamar’s biggest Spotify records after its opening track, Make Them Cry, pulled in 13.2 million streams in its first day. According to figures shared by Kurrco, that makes it the biggest first-day debut for a rap song in Spotify history.

Before this, the record was held by Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us, which earned 12.8 million streams in its first 24 hours. The comparison has naturally brought Drake and Kendrick’s rivalry back into focus, especially because Not Like Us became one of the defining tracks of their feud.

ICEMAN also had a massive first day as a full project. The album reportedly earned 140.2 million streams in 24 hours, making it the second-biggest rap album debut in Spotify history. The only rap album still ahead of it is Drake’s own Certified Lover Boy, which opened with 155 million streams.

The record comes after Drake released ICEMAN alongside two other albums, Habibti and Maid of Honour, in a surprise triple-drop that immediately became one of the biggest music moments of the year. Pitchfork reported that the three projects arrived together on May 15, following Drake’s Iceman livestream series.

The streaming success has also pushed fans to look closer at the lyrics across the album. Several lines are already being discussed online for appearing to reference Kendrick Lamar, while other names being brought into the conversation include DJ Khaled, LeBron James, J. Cole, A$AP Rocky and Rihanna.
