Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved from a New Jersey prison to a federal facility in Pennsylvania following weeks of controversy involving alleged special treatment, disciplinary violations and a mysterious head injury.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is getting a change of scenery behind bars, but the circumstances surrounding his sudden prison transfer are raising more questions than answers.

The disgraced music mogul has been transferred from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, according to TMZ. The move, which took place Friday, October 16, comes after a turbulent stretch for Combs involving reported altercations with inmates, allegations of preferential treatment and a recent medical emergency that landed him in the hospital.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed the transfer but has not publicly explained why Combs was moved to a different facility.

Diddy's Prison Transfer Follows Weeks of Controversy

According to TMZ, Combs was relocated to Allenwood, a low-security federal correctional institution that houses significantly fewer inmates than Fort Dix.

The transfer comes amid growing scrutiny surrounding his time in federal custody.

Recent reports have alleged that the Bad Boy Records founder received special privileges behind bars, including access to unauthorized alcohol, a cellphone, expensive meals and massages from fellow inmates.

Combs has also reportedly faced disciplinary action over multiple incidents involving cellphone violations and physical altercations with other prisoners.

According to reports, those violations cost him 41 days of good-conduct credit, which can affect an inmate's eligibility for early release, as well as 400 days of commissary privileges.

He was also reportedly placed in the prison's Special Housing Unit on two separate occasions.

While the timing of the transfer has fueled speculation about whether these incidents played a role in the decision, prison officials have not confirmed any connection.

Diddy Was Hospitalized Days Before His Transfer

The move also follows a medical emergency on Saturday, October 10, when Combs was reportedly transported from Fort Dix by ambulance after suffering a head injury.

According to TMZ, the rapper was taken for medical treatment during the early morning hours before returning to the facility later that day.

The circumstances surrounding the injury have since become another source of controversy.

Initial reports alleged that Combs was involved in a physical altercation with Christopher “Dudus” Coke, a convicted Jamaican drug kingpin also serving time in federal prison.

However, both Combs' family and the Bureau of Prisons have disputed those claims.

A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson told TMZ that the reported altercation was false, although officials declined to provide additional information about how Combs sustained his injury.

With conflicting accounts continuing to circulate, the cause of the medical emergency remains unclear.

What Does the Transfer Mean for Diddy's Prison Sentence?

Despite the sudden relocation, Combs has not been moved to a higher-security prison.

FCI Allenwood Low maintains the same general security classification as Fort Dix, although it operates on a smaller scale.

The transfer itself does not change Combs' underlying sentence.

The 56-year-old is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.

His projected release date has already been pushed back to March 2, 2028, following the reported loss of good-conduct credit.

Meanwhile, his legal team continues to challenge his conviction and sentence through the appeals process.

For now, Allenwood marks another chapter in a prison term that has attracted nearly as much public attention as the criminal case that put Combs behind bars.
