Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly headed back to solitary confinement as federal prison officials investigate allegations that he received special treatment behind bars.
According to TMZ, officials at FCI Fort Dix are returning the Bad Boy Records founder to the Special Housing Unit, commonly known as SHU.
Sources reportedly told the outlet that the move follows recent allegations about Diddy’s treatment in prison, including claims that he had access to contraband and received privileges from other inmates.
The placement is reportedly standard procedure while prison officials investigate the allegations.
Diddy Faces Investigation Over Alleged Prison Privileges
The latest development follows an NBC News report detailing allegations about Diddy’s life at FCI Fort Dix.
Sources cited in the report alleged that the music mogul had access to a contraband cellphone and received massages while incarcerated.
Other inmates allegedly performed chores for him, including making his bed, doing his laundry and cleaning his toilet.
The report also claimed inmates prepared meals including curry chicken, pizza and empanadas for Diddy, while people within his circle allegedly deposited thousands of dollars into inmates’ commissary accounts.
There were also allegations involving contraband alcohol.
The reported privileges have not been established as fact, and the latest SHU placement comes as prison officials investigate the claims.
Diddy Has Previously Spent Time In SHU
This reportedly will not be Diddy’s first stay in the Special Housing Unit.
He was previously placed in SHU in July following a reported altercation with another inmate.
During that placement, sources told TMZ that Diddy experienced restricted movement and limited contact with others.
He was later released from the unit before the latest allegations surrounding his treatment at Fort Dix emerged.
When Is Diddy Scheduled To Be Released?
According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records cited by TMZ, Diddy is currently scheduled for release on January 21, 2028.
His projected release date has reportedly changed several times and was previously listed for June 2028.
Diddy was convicted in 2025 on two federal counts related to transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.
The jury acquitted him of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges he faced.
He was later sentenced to 50 months in federal prison.
Diddy’s Prison Stay Faces New Scrutiny
The latest investigation adds another development to Diddy’s time in federal custody.
While reports have described an unusually comfortable prison experience involving special meals, massages, contraband and assistance from fellow inmates, those claims are now reportedly being reviewed by prison officials.
His reported return to SHU means he could once again face significantly tighter restrictions while that investigation continues.
