Cardi B has never been shy about discussing the cosmetic work she has had done, and now the rapper is getting candid about one of the biggest changes she made to her appearance.
While discussing plastic surgery and the features that run in her family, Cardi explained that her decision to get a nose job came down to something pretty simple: she did not want to keep the nose she inherited from her father.
The Bronx rapper has previously joked about having her dad’s nose, openly admitting that it was one feature she always wanted to change.
“I had my daddy’s nose,” Cardi previously said while discussing the procedure. “That s*** had to go.”
Cardi B Gets Candid About Her Nose Job
Cardi has spoken openly about feeling that her natural nose was larger than she wanted, even before becoming famous.
During a previous appearance on “The Jason Lee Show,” she recalled looking at herself long before her rap career took off and realizing she had inherited the feature from her father.
Unlike celebrities who prefer to keep cosmetic procedures private, Cardi has repeatedly made it clear that she has no problem admitting when she changes something about herself.
She has also pushed back against the idea that getting plastic surgery automatically means someone is insecure.
Cardi previously explained that she simply has a particular look she prefers for herself and, if she has the ability to change something she does not like, she will.
Cardi B Says Nose Fillers Came Before Rhinoplasty
Cardi’s journey to her eventual rhinoplasty was not completely straightforward.
Before undergoing surgery, she experimented with a nonsurgical nose job using filler in 2019 after seeing claims online that injections could make a nose appear smaller.
According to Cardi, the results did the opposite of what she wanted.
She said the filler made her nose appear longer and wider, particularly around the tip. Attempts to dissolve the filler did not completely restore its previous appearance, leading her to ultimately undergo rhinoplasty in 2020 following the release of “WAP.”
Cardi has since used that experience to encourage fans to research cosmetic procedures carefully rather than simply following trends they see online.
Cardi B Has Always Been Open About Plastic Surgery
The nose job is far from the only procedure Cardi has publicly discussed.
Over the years, she has confirmed undergoing breast augmentation, liposuction and other cosmetic procedures. She has also spoken extensively about receiving illegal butt injections when she was younger and later having roughly 95 percent of those biopolymers removed because of the potential health risks.
While Cardi remains supportive of adults making their own choices about cosmetic surgery, she has strongly warned fans against dangerous underground procedures like the injections she once received.
More recently, she again reminded followers that she has never tried to hide the work she has had done while responding to speculation that she secretly underwent additional surgery.
