Brooklyn publicist Janice Torres has responded to Drake’s reported “Janice Apology” parties with an invitation of her own.
Instead of attending an exclusive event inspired by Drake’s “Janice STFU,” Torres wants the Toronto rapper to support the reopening of a library at P.S. 273 in East New York, Brooklyn.
Drake’s ICEMAN rollout reportedly included Janice-only parties in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto and Houston. The events were promoted as a playful apology to women named Janice following the release of “Janice STFU.”
Torres, who works with The Brand Phoenix, used the attention surrounding the song to advocate for children in her community.
Janice Torres Responds to Drake’s “Janice STFU” Campaign
Torres shared an open letter to Drake on Facebook after learning about the reported “Janice Apology” parties.
“My name is Janice. Yes, legally,” she wrote. “I heard you’re inviting women named Janice to a party after ‘Janice STFU.’ If I receive an invitation, I’d love to invite you to something bigger than a party. I’d like to invite you to a purpose.”

Rather than treating Drake’s campaign as a joke or asking for a personal apology, Torres encouraged him to use the moment to create a lasting impact in Brooklyn.
She explained that her name has always carried deeper meaning for her because of its connection to Janus, the ancient Roman figure associated with beginnings, endings, transitions and gateways.
“Janus is the keeper of doors. He looks to the past while opening the future,” Torres wrote. “My work has never been about opening doors just for myself. It’s about opening them for others.”
Drake Invited to Support Brooklyn School Library Reopening
Janice Torres invited Drake to help reopen the library at P.S. 273, an elementary school serving predominantly Black children in East New York.
According to Torres, the Brooklyn school library has remained closed for nearly two years because of construction.
She hopes the renewed space can welcome students back with fresh paint, comfortable reading areas, new furniture and thousands of diverse books.
“I want their first day back to feel unforgettable,” Torres wrote.

Her vision includes creating a library where every child can find books and characters that reflect their experiences.
Torres stressed that her invitation to Drake was not about receiving money, attention or an exclusive party experience for herself.
“I’m not asking for anything for myself,” she said. “I’m asking for help building a space that could change the trajectory of a child’s life.”
Janice Torres Turns Drake Moment Into Community Mission
Torres ended her open letter with a playful reference to Drake’s ICEMAN era, pointing out that the final three letters of Janice spell “ICE.”
She then repeated her request for Drake to help create something meaningful for Brooklyn students.
“If one Janice gets the opportunity to ask for something, this Janice is asking for a library,” she wrote. “Not for me. For the children who will walk through those doors this September and discover that books can open worlds no construction project ever could.”
Drake has not publicly responded to Janice Torres’ Brooklyn library invitation.
