Boosie Badazz is facing a new lawsuit tied to an alleged nightclub incident in Houston.

According to TMZ, security guard Edward Iglehart II is suing the Louisiana rapper, whose real name is Torrence Hatch Jr., after claiming Boosie smashed a glass hookah over his head during an event at Dome Nightclub on May 24.

The lawsuit marks the latest development in the same alleged incident that previously led to Boosie facing an aggravated assault charge in Harris County. Local reports said the case involved allegations that the rapper struck a security guard with a glass hookah at a Houston nightclub.

In the lawsuit, Iglehart claims he was working security in the VIP section during an event where Boosie performed. Near closing time, he says a woman from Boosie’s VIP area asked to re-enter a restricted part of the club to use the bathroom.

Iglehart claims he tried to direct the woman to another security guard, but says she began yelling at him and eventually hit him. He says he grabbed the woman to lead her away before she fell.

According to the filing, Iglehart bent down to help her when he was struck with a heavy object. He claims Boosie was standing over him with a broken hookah as he began bleeding heavily.

Iglehart says he was rushed to the hospital after the alleged assault. Earlier court reporting said the guard received staples for a head injury following the incident.

The security guard is now suing Boosie for assault, battery and defamation. He claims the rapper later made false statements about him on social media.

Iglehart is also suing the company connected to the nightclub, alleging the venue overserved Boosie and his guests and created an unsafe workplace.

Boosie was arrested in connection with the alleged assault back in May. At the time, reports said the woman involved in the confrontation was identified as Boosie’s niece.

Boosie’s attorney, Carl A. Moore, told TMZ that they plan to “vigorously investigate and defend” the rapper against the allegations. He also said Boosie was trying to defend a female relative and de-escalate the situation.
