Rapper BigXThaPlug is dealing with legal trouble after being arrested in the Dallas area on charges involving driving while intoxicated, marijuana and firearm possession.
The rapper, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was arrested Friday and booked into the Collin County Jail, according to authorities.
The 28-year-old “The Largest” hitmaker faces three misdemeanor counts: driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession under two ounces and unlawful firearm possession.
An Allen Police Department spokesperson confirmed the arrest, although authorities have not publicly released details about the traffic stop or what allegedly led to Landum’s detention.
BigXThaPlug’s Arrest Impacts Canada Festival Appearance
The arrest reportedly happened on the same day BigXThaPlug was scheduled to headline Winnipeg’s Country Rising Festival in Canada.
Festival organizers canceled his appearance, saying the rapper would “no longer be able to perform” because of what they described as a “personal emergency.”
Despite the arrest, BigXThaPlug was released in time to travel to Des Moines, Iowa, where he performed at the Iowa State Fair on Saturday.
Before taking the stage, the rapper posted a video letting fans know he was on his way to the performance.
“They didn’t think I was coming,” he told the crowd during his set, addressing his unexpected absence from the Canadian festival.
BigXThaPlug Says He Prayed While in Custody
During his performance, BigXThaPlug also opened up about his time in Collin County.
The rapper said he spent his time in custody praying and hoping he would be released in time to make his Iowa performance.
“When I was in Collin County, I was praying hard,” BigXThaPlug told the crowd. “I was like, ‘Please let me make it to Des Moines, Iowa.’”
His comments appeared to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation while also emphasizing that he was determined to make it to the scheduled performance.
BigXThaPlug Teases New Album Following Arrest
The rapper also appeared to reference his arrest while promoting upcoming music on social media.
BigXThaPlug shared his booking photo alongside a message that read, “THAT SHIT LITE 🤦🏾♂️… ALBUM OTW…”
The post suggests that the rapper intends to keep his music rollout moving despite the recent legal trouble.
BigXThaPlug Has Previous Texas Arrests
Friday’s arrest is reportedly not the first time BigXThaPlug has faced marijuana and firearm-related allegations in the Dallas area.
In August 2025, the rapper was arrested following an album-release party on marijuana and firearm allegations.
He also faced a marijuana possession case in Arlington, Texas, in February 2025.
As of Sunday, BigXThaPlug’s representatives had not publicly commented on the latest arrest.
The current charges remain allegations, and an arrest does not establish guilt. BigXThaPlug is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
